Sunday Snapshot

22 Apr

Hey guys, I’m busily studying my little brain out today for all my exams this week.  My life has been pretty routine: eat, study, workout, sleep, repeat.  But instead of just blabing about it…I thought you could see for yourself.  Here is a mostly wordless recap of the past few days!

Breakfast

Breakfast: Pomegranate Power Porridge

Biomechanics: like ten pounds of fun in a five pound bag!

Biomechanics practice exam

Or NOT!

Refuel

Protein Smoothie: 1 scoop vanilla sunwarrior, 1 large slice cantaloupe, handful of strawberries, chopped cucumber, and ice.

So refreshing!!!

Get distracted when these guys land on the terrace

Get some fresh air and chill out for a minute

Back to work!!!

Several hours later when brain is completely fried it’s time to workout…

Leg Circuit: 5 exercises, 30 reps each, 4 rounds. Definitely worked up a sweat!

Come home a ravenous monster and get stuck into making dinner

Greek Lamburgers

Served up with brown rice, salad and veggie sticks.

Then MORE STUDYING…followed by some rest and relaxation…

Love this show!

Accompanied by a few of these…

Don’t worry I’ll post the recipe soon :)

Now it’s your turn…

What’s your daily ‘snapshot’ look like?

wow, I think you would be able to give me great pointers on how to eat right. I am confused on proper eating. Suggestions for meal plans/ websites or books that show samples so that I can start better living? An at-home weight workout? (I have a pair of dumbbells).
Your food looks spectacular. Do you ever use whey ? Or almond milk or cocnut milk in smoothies? Are your smoothies thick or thin? Ever put oil in your smoothies? Thanks for any tips :)

Hey Katie! Thanks for the comment. I use brown rice protein cuz I don’t tolerate dairy very well. But whey is excellent if you can have it!!! I also put unsweetened almond breeze in my smoothies and throw in some ice to make them nice and thick. As for the oils…I don’t tend to do it too often…I usually opt for nut butters instead. But coconut oil or flax oil would make an amazing addition. Basically anything goes with smoothies. It really depend on what I feel like at that moment.

Suggestions for websites and resources for better living would be The Eat Clean Diet Series by Tosca Reno (check out my ‘links I love page’) as well as Oxygen Magazine. I use both regularly to workout and nutrition inspiration. I also have some workouts posted that you can do anywhere with minimal equipment. Hope that helps :)

You always have to throw some sweets in there, huh? I would be gnawing on them inbetween the biomechanics studies. I used to keep a bowl of Skittles to keep me going. Maybe you could go into business for those healthy cookies!

Maybe I should change my name from ‘The Healthy Diva’ to ‘The Cookie Monster’??? I totally think your business idea is worth looking into though…I could make a killing :)
