Good Luck Ms. Sarah. My neighbor went through this a few years ago. Restricted herself to a 1200 calories diet and worked out for 2-3 hours a day. Her body got so run down parts of her hair started to fall out. Weight training can be such a confidence booster. Go of it! You can actually ‘build’ a new your. Your body needs food to grow and recover. A lot of times I think it is one of the great things about working out as a hobby….you get to eat more…cause you are going to work it off. Good Luck!
Thanks Andy! I totally appreciate your support and encouragement
This is going to be a great year.
Great to meet you too! Your blog is great, I’m looking forward to reading more posts. See you soon x

I am happy for you that you are working things out. Sometimes you just need to remind yourself of all the little successes that you have made. They all add up over time.
Yes all the little wins add up to a big victory!
I appreciate the like. Love your blog. Thanks for sharing your story with others. Wishing you all the best in “balancing fitness, food, and feeling good!”.

Thanks for checking out Skinnyandfit. =] You have a great blog here. Gloris
I’ve had (still do have) my own struggles with food too, so I understand what you must have gone through. It’s never easy to get other an obsession over food, but it’s such an inspiration to see how much hard work you have put into the issue. Good luck with everything!
Thanks for all the love. yeah i’m still working through things but feel super positive about where I’m at now!
Thanks for liking my blog about my current workout routine, the P90X/P90X+ hybrid! Feel free to follow me and, if you have any questions about it or want to even try P90X (or any other Beachbody workouts), let me know!
Oh sounds cool…I’m doing jamie eason’s livefit trainer atm, but would be interested in trying P90x after! always thought it was a pretty cool program
So glad that you were able to overcome your obstacles and work towards a healthier you both inside and out!
Okay, well I hope that works for you too! If you’re ever interested then drop me a line: WCman1976@yahoo.com
Sarah, I’m so happy you’re on this new journey to health. You are so right… listen to your intuitive inner voice and be gentle and very kind to yourself. It’s a very gradual process…
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I offer support and encouragement to all on this path.
Peace, health and happiness,
Jan
Thanks for the kind words Jan!

Hey Sarah
Great work on being Healthy…. and thanks for reading my blog. Lets work together sometime to help keep others motivated to be healthy not fit into a stereotype! I’m an RN and started Neo-Vie to give everyone from birth and pregnancy to seniors the information they need to have New-Life and Better Health. I’ll be back soon as I also try to manage my life and health!
Bridget
Thanks bridget, look forward to hearing more about your health journey as well!
Wow, what an amazing and inspirational story! Very brave of you to share your struggles. It sounds like you are the path of mental and physical health. I’ve learned the hard way that it’s so important to have a great relationship with yourself! Positive self talk, respecting yourself, being honest with yourself and loving yourself. I look forward to reading more great things from you!
Thanks Mike…I’ll be giving lots of updates so check back
Do you still compete or model?
Not at the moment…but maybe again sometime down the track
Right on. Amen, sister!
Sarah,
First, Thank you for liking a post on my blog, second, always be true to yourself and never let anything influence the way you live your life. We must all be open and honest with ourselves. You have quite a story to tell and you have told it quite well. I commend you for having the foresight to get help before it was too late. So many people, both men and women, go through similar situations, but never come back from them.
You are a true inspiration to others. Knowing that we need help is one thing, but asking for that help is a different story. All too often, most of us are too proud to ask for that help and I am proud of you for making the right decision. Keep well!
Thank you for your beautiful comment. I hope that I can inspire others to achieve their best health both inside and out. It is a long journey, but one that is well worth it!
Thank you for following my new blog. Had you not, I would not have found yours, which is great! Looking forward to sharing good health with you!
Hi Sarah, thanks for checking out my blog. I read about your dieting and the damage to your physical and emotional health…The beauty business can be very destructive and unhealthy for women, as you’ve obviously learned. You seem very sharp, so I believe you will overcome this. Try to pay close attention to the emotions you feel about the foods you eat…if something doesn’t feel right when you’re about to eat a particular food, think about whether the food is a healthy choice for your body. This will lead to making empowered food choices, which will not only support your body with good nutrition, but will support your psyche, helping to strengthen your self-esteem. If you work on inner beauty you won’t need to worry about outer beauty! If you check in periodically with my blog I’ll be talking about nutrition in depth…
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Bemis, D.C.
Thank you for the wonderful heart felt comment Elizabeth. I’m definitely working on being more in tune with my body and mind. I’m in a very happy place at the moment
I look forward to reading more about nutrition on your site!
Great blog!
Thanks for checking in on the new recipe upload for “Scones and Raisins’, I will welcome you to visit my blog anytime. More recipe uploads will be added for this month. I am Cheering (barricking)-(in – Australian) for you to continue your quest. Had a great supplier years ago for Australian Coffee.

Hey Healthy Diva! Thanks for the Like of my blog. I can see you are on a fun and interesting journey as well. Loving your recipes too – we are having a shared Valentines day morning tea at work, so I could well be trying one of those out very soon!
All the best!
Oooo morning tea at work sounds lovely! I hope you get to try lots of tasty treats
Hi, thanks for visiting my blog, and I applaud you on your healthy journey. I’m with the poster above who says how destructive our society is when it comes to women’s self-images. It is very hard to “like” yourself. So eat and do what feels best for you!
Hi Sarah, Thanks for the “Like”. Women are lucky, we recognize the opportunity and positive potential of a journey and take it. Good luck with yours! I’ll be checking back
Thanks for visiting my blog (specifically my neurotic little post!)
I know about eating disrders, as I was bulemic at 15 and for many years after.
I think your site is great and I love the recipes your posting, they look really good (I hate healthy-crap shooting all on my own when it comes to baking, as I always bomb!) i can’t wait to try yours!
Keep up the great work!
xo
Thanks so much…hope you enjoy the recipes and keep in touch!
Thank you for dropping by
Hey Sarah =) Thanks for checking out my page, loving your blog!! Can’t wait to try those overnight banana soft serve oats….ohmaaagaaaawsh how did I never think to combine those two, haha! I can’t wait to keep reading through your posts, you’ve got such a great attitude, and good for you for realizing that you needed help and taking control!
thanks jessi…yes overnight oats are super tasty…i ove making them in summer when it’s too hot for porridge
Thanks, Sarah. I’ve been running for going on 40 years (started @ age 13). While i eat healthy (lots of fruits & veggies)…I also indulge in junkie snacks (Fritos, Doritos, Cheetos & my “stumbling block”…Godiva Chocolates!)
I graze & snack…mostly because I can (several marathons, umpteen races & lots of hill-work (see “Natirar Park” entry on my running blog)). However…as i turned 52 last September I noticed that my “4 slices of pizza & 2 Sam Adams brews” monthly dinner fare wasn’t “melting” off as it had for the previous 51 years. At 6′, 181 pounds I’m still considered “slim”…but will now have to moderate (slightly) my caloric intake ;- D
During the last 3-4 years, I have developed into a kitchen fanatic, now doing most of the cooking for my wife & 2 children (daughter also a runner!). I peruse Runners World recipes & will yours as well.
Btw…your gravitar is awesome (another weakness is brunettes – my wife is a 5’6″ 112 lb killer brunette as well!).
Best – Gene
Good luck with everything
I know now that being healthy isn’t about a number, it’s a lifestyle choice. Eating healthy, whole foods, exercise, hobbies, family and friends…oh and work I suppose. Good luck, hope to read some more good posts from you!!!
I am glad you visited Baystride Images. You have a very nice blog. Have a great day!
Hey Sarah! Just wanted to stop by and say I love your blog! It’s very informative and inspiring! I just discovered it and have been hooked, reading straight through the first few posts. I’m fortunate enough to never have fallen into the “diet trap”, even if my weight is a more or less constant concern. But I’ve learned that eating well by cooking healthy and very tasty meals myself really helps with the whole weight issue. It just makes me feel like I’m doing the right things, without worrying constantly about whether my food choices might be the wrong ones. Looks to me like you’re on the right track as well and I wish you a lot of courage and strength to follow through!
Carole
P.S. Thanks for stopping by at my blog (a dream very recently come true

Hi and thank you for checking out my blog and the”Like”. What an inspiring story you have! Love the blog.
First thank you for swinging by my blog. I really appreciate it. Second I love your about me. I think that you are going through some hard stuff with nothing but motivation on your shoulders. I have a saying that I tell all the people that I come into contact with. YOU CANT TEACH HEART. For me it helps me push everyday towards my MMA goal. It is up to you what you want it to but the reason that I tell you this is because heart gets you through and yours seems to be strong. People like you keep people like me in check and make us push to get better ourselves. God bless and good luck!!!
